Works to improve the well-being of older lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in Central New York through health programs, fitness classes, support groups, events focused toward reducing isolation, community center, and education for providers of aging services. Provides a neighborhood advisor to access services needed to remain independent in the community. Meetings being offered via Zoom and for information on how to log in or call in, please visit sageupstate.org


All meetings and activities are at the Sage Upstate Center or on Zoom unless otherwise noted: 

Dining Out: Meet others at local restaurants for meals
Breakfast: Second Thursday of the month, 9:30 AM; Lunch: Third Wednesday of the month; Dinner: First Thursday of the month, 6 PM
Participants are notified through an email list; email kdill@sageupstate.org or call 315-478-1923 to be added to the contact list

First Friday Social: Games and socializing. Meets First Friday of the month, 3 PN. Offered at SAGE Upstate and on Zoom.

Fitness Classes: Improve balance and build strength to help avoid falls; open to all fitness levels. Meets every Monday and Friday, 11 AM. Check out group leader Barb Genton's exercise videos on the SAGE Upstate Facebook Page. Offered at SAGE Upstate and on Zoom.

Knitting, & Fabric Arts: Knitting, needlecraft circle. Meets every Wednesday night, 7 PM. Participants can come to learn to knit or to join other experienced knitters in a welcoming environment. Offered at SAGE Upstate and on Zoom.

Men's Night Out: Social gathering for SAGE men. Meets Third Friday of the month, 7 PM. Offered at SAGE Upstate and on Zoom.

Oswego Social: Socialize with others in the Oswego area. Meets Second Friday of the month, 11:30 AM; call 315-478-1923 for location information.

SAGEVets: Socialize with LGBTQ Veterans. Meets First Friday of the month, 6 PM. Offered at SAGE Upstate only.

Second Sunday Potluck: Program and social time, Second Sunday of the month 3 PM, with dinner to follow; bring a dish to pass. Offered at SAGE Upstate only.

Trans Social: Socialize with Trans identified people. Meets Third Saturday of the month, 7 PM. Offered on Zoom only.

Utica Social: Social with others in the Utica area at Utica Unitarian Church - 10 Higby Road. Meets Second Saturday of the month, 2 PM.

Walking Group: Meet others to go for a walk. Meets every Thursday, 10 AM. Check SAGE Upstate Facebook page for location.

Writing Group: Ongoing group open to writers of all levels, all forms of writing. Meets every Wednesday, 5:30 PM. Offered on Zoom only.

Required Documentation: Proof of vaccination; present card one time and it will be kept on file
