Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County

(Program)

Provides one-to-one confidential tutoring at no cost to individuals ages 16 and older who are not in school. Offers tutoring in reading, writing, simple math, English language, and basic computer literacy.

Eligibility: Oswego County residents ages 16 years or older who are no longer in school

Application Process: Intake and assessment to determine eligibility; Adult Basic Education students must take the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) reading portion to determine the reading grade level equivalent and English Language Learners must take the BEST Plus or BEST Literacy to assess English speaking skills
