Housing Assistance and Life Skills Education (HALE)

(Program)

Assists homeless adults and families who reside in a shelter and have some income from employment or who have a work history or work skills. Provides independent living skills training, housing location assistance, linkage to mainstream resources, and financial assistance for housing for up to 24 months to help participants transition from homelessness to independent living.

Eligibility: Homeless individuals and families residing in a homeless shelter with some income from employment or who possess work skills and/or have a work history

Application Process: Referral from shelter worker

Required Documentation: HALE application; legal eviction notice if residence will be lost in 14 days from date of application; last four weeks of pay stubs; income verification and/or work history from all sources
