Promotes independence and opportunity for Central New Yorkers of all ages by serving people who are blind or visually impaired, deaf or hard-of-hearing, as well as people who are late-deafened and deaf/blind.
 

Eligibility: Low visioned persons over the age of 6. Must be legally blind, 55 years and older and not working. Those who do not meet the above criteria can call the Syracuse Commission for the blind who may refer them to Aurora.

Required Documentation: For low vision/ legal blind assistance a referral from Optometrist or Ophthalmologist is suggested.

Cayuga, Onondaga, and Oswego counties; Interpreter services also available in Cortland and Jefferson counties
