Pistol License Unit

(Program)

Processes pistol license applications, license holders' amendments, acquisitions, disposals, address changes, NICS checks, duplicates and transfers. Maintains pistol license files, processes pistol license suspensions and revocations, conducts criminal investigation of pistol licensees when warranted, and conducts deceased pistol licensee investigations.

Eligibility: Onondaga County residents ages 21 years and older with four character references, and who have attended a handgun safety course with a certified instructor; must provide proof of completion of the course
