Childbirth and Breast Feeding Classes

Offers the following classes to expectant mothers and fathers:
The Pregnancy Workshop - To be taken during the first and second trimester and helps both new and experienced parents learn about the developing baby, physical and emotional changes, nutrition, exercise, preparation for the new arrival, ways to deal with pregnancy discomforts, and warning signs to report to your health care provider.
One Sunday per month, 5 PM - 7 PM
Breastfeeding and Caring for New Families Classes:
Part 1: Breastfeeding Basics: Topics include how to get the best start, achieving a good latch, positioning, establishing a good supply, and managing common challenge. Provides information on community resources.
Scheduled Saturday, 9:30 AM - 12 Noon and Scheduled weeknights, 6 PM - 8:30 PM
Part 2: Caring for New Families: Teaches new mothers to care for themselves and their newborn and includes topics about safety, when to call the doctor, the different between the baby blues and postpartum depressions.
Saturday, 1 PM - 3 PM
Prepared Childbirth Classes: To be taken during the seventh month of pregnancy and includes topics about relaxation and pain control options for labor, how to stay comfortable and healthy during the last weeks, and stress reduction techniques.
One Sunday per month, 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Infant/Child Heartsaver Class: Designed for expectant parents but is open to anyone wishing to learn these techniques. Teaches CPR and how to help a choking infant or child and offers tips to make your child's environment as safe as possible.
One Sunday per month, 2 PM - 4 PM
