Victim Assistance Project

(Program)

Provides free civil (non-criminal) legal services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Services include family matters including orders of protection, divorces, separations, child custody, and child support as well as legal problems that keep victims from becoming independent from their abusers, including problems with finances, housing, public benefits, access to healthcare, and immigration.

Eligibility: Victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and/or stalking with low income and low resources (exceptions are made in certain cases); Onondaga County residents should contact the Hiscock Legal Aid Society (315-422-8191)

Application Process: Contact the office directly or apply through the local domestic violence or rape crisis program
